Quartz vs Granite

Sometimes there is confusion about what exactly quartz countertops are and how they differ from granite countertops. While granite countertops are 100% natural, quartz countertops are an engineered material made from about 95% natural quartz. Quartz counters come in a wide range of colors and styles not available in granite. They also can be used over larger surfaces with less obvious seems. Quartz does not need to be periodically resealed like granite countertops do, but they are more sensitive to heat. Both materials make wonderful countertops. If you are still uncertain about which is right for you then stop by our showroom and we will help you find the perfect countertop.

Care & Maintenance

Quartz counters are less porous than other stone countertops. Despite their stain-resistance it is still recommended to clean any spills as soon as possible. It is usually safe to use mild household cleaners on it when needed, but for daily cleaning water and a paper towel is ideal. These countertops are less heat resistant than other stones so make sure to use trivets or heating pads under any hot pans or dishes.
